National Museum of Mexican Arts

The National Museum of Mexican Art is located in the Pilsen/Little Village neighborhood of Chicago, which has been the historic center of the Chicago’s Mexican community for more than 100 years and where 80% of residents are of Mexican descent. Families and children from across the city come and learn about Mexican arts and culture free of charge at the museum, which is the largest Latino cultural institution in the U.S. In addition to museum programs, staff provides in-school workshops for 2,000 students at 40 schools. Staff is also piloting a program that develops curriculum guides to integrate museum visits with classroom units in five schools.
